Monokai Pro Community Edition (CE)
Monokai Pro can be applied to any app that supports custom themes, like text editors, IDEs or terminals. Official themes are maintained by Monokai, but anyone can create their own Monokai Pro Community Edition (CE).
To streamline this, there’s a GitHub repository that provides a template for publishing your own. After your theme is accepted, the information in your repository will be visible on this website.

Please note, the Monokai Pro color schemes and icons sets are copyrighted and the icons are not open source. You can create your own version, as long as:
- no official Monokai Pro theme exists for the app,
- you name it “Monokai Pro (CE)”,
- you only include the default Monokai Pro filter,
- it’s free, non-commercial and open source,
- you grant Monokai the right to potentially take over the package,
- and you use this Github template to publish it.
